So now, we've thrown our vase, we've shaped it. We've gotten the exact shape that we like.
Great edge and lip. So now I'm going to remove it from the bat. The best way to do that is
to get a point ready for the wire. Use your wire cutter here. Now this is very important
as well, because if you cut this wrong, it's going to be uneven. So what I usually do is
hold it steady with my fingers,
and I want to slowly move it, not too slow actually. I want to move it pretty fast towards
my body so I don't have to worry about it becoming uneven. Some people do it with the
wheel moving, I choose not to. I've just learned the hard way. So, with one action, then it's
cut. Then I can remove it from the bat so I can use the bat again. I want to make sure
my hands are dry. And no dried clay on them as well because that will get on the surface
of the piece. Then with the bottom, even weight, quickly place it on your drying surface.
