Fall is one of my favorite times of the year, and with it comes
some fantastic recipes that complement the season. Today I'm going to show you how to
make two of my favorites -- Halloween Trick or Treat monster
cupcakes, and individual toffee pumpkin pies with Hershey's
Kisses acorn treats. For the cupcake recipe, go to HersheysKitchens.com. Once the cupcakes
are made, baked, and completely cooled, you are ready to frost
and decorate. Start off by frosting your cupcakes with this
festive orange frosting. To get this festive orange frosting, add a few drops of red and
yellow food color to vanilla frosting, and then frost as you normally
would. You can decorate with any of Hershey's candies, but
today I'm going to be using Twizzlers, Good & Plenty, Milk Duds, and Almond Joy pieces
candy. I'm going to use these dark pieces for eyes, a pink Good
& Plenty for the mouth, I think we need an almond colored nose.
My monster's going to have some crazy hair growing out of his forehead. Remember, it's
a monster. It can be whatever you want it to be. Hershey's Kisses
acorn treats are the perfect topper for the toffee pumpkin pie.
And to make these, you simply take your Royal icing, put a dab on the bottom of your Hershey's
Kisses chocolate, attach that to the bottom of the
mini vanilla wafer cookie, and then attach the button for the stem
to your acorn. Your stem is made with a Hershey's butterscotch chip or a Reece's peanut butter
chip. Attach that to the top, and there you are. You've got your Hershey's Kisses acorn
treat. Visit HersheysKitchens.com for these and other harvest-inspired recipes.
Happy baking.
