Day 15 of 30 Admit that You're Wrong Hey folks, welcome to Day 15 and we've reached
the half way point. Today I want to talk about yet another sensitive
subject,' How to admit or tell a student that you are wrong when you thought
you are right.' So there's another student that I have, look can we work together
on personal statements and there is at least one moment in every lesson, he'll
make a suggestion in terms of some of the wording around a specific sentence and
only to admit that I got it wrong. So how does one do this?
By just doing it, and congratulating the student because you must remember the
context. Even though it's a learner -- it's a learned and the learnee process, even
though there's this kind of student and tutor relationship, it's always important to
get the best out of your student. So sometime the looks says to me ... I think this
....You know, Luke that's a really good suggestion, I got it wrong this time, that's
well done, buddy, keep 'em coming. Things like this are so critical to students,
because they're not used to that kind of dialogue. Please do when you get it wrong,
not only say, ' Oh, wow, I got it wrong' in surprise but congratulate the students. It's
the small, the significant thing that makes a big difference in that compense. So and
maybe your wrong.
