Hello, you know we often hear about webinar registration rates but what we don't often
hear about is webinar attendance rates. Some statistics show that as much as 80% of registrants
will not show up to attend the webinar even though they've registered. That's a pretty
significant number. And we found that you can increase webinar attendance by doing a
few things. 1) Create a video that goes on your thank you page reinforcing their decision
to sign up and encouraging them to come to the webinar and telling them even more on
the benefits of attending. 2) Encouraging people to print the confirmation page with
the webinar details on it and having them posted on the refrigerator corkboard or somewhere
that they're sure to see it. 3) Tell people to immediately add the webinar date to their
Google calendar, iPhone calendar etcetera and 4) giveaway a free worksheet for your
webinar to drive curiosity. And I'll give you an example a little bit later of a worksheet
that increases curiosity and the likelihood that people will show up on the webinar.
Now all of these things that we just listed can be done on the webinar thank you page
that we just added the LeadPages, this page was designed for the sole purpose of boosting
webinar attendants. After someone opts in for your webinar, a good way to increase the
likelihood that they'll show up is to send them to a page like this. First we have the
video that tells them about the details of the webinar and tells them what to do on the
page. Then, on the right here we have the option for them to print this whole page out.
If I click the click to print this page, the print page dialogue box comes up and I can
easily print this page. In your video, encourage them to do this and put it on the refrigerator,
bulletin board, calendar or so on. And then when they print it out, they'll have all of
the pertinent info for the date and start time of your webinar right here.
One of the coolest features I've seen in a long time is this. You can add the webinar
to your calendar right from this page. You just click it and then it populates with all
the info and the attendees only have to click save and it's added to their calendar. And
we've got options here to let people do this with outlook and iCalendar as well. Lastly,
this is the section where you can give away a webinar worksheet and this helps create
massive curiosity for your webinar. The worksheet will have the best points from the webinar
laid out so someone looking at this worksheet can get an idea of what you'll be talking
about. But the juiciest lines will be left blank. And this creates an insane amount of
curiosity and encourages people to tune in so they can fill in the blanks and find out
what those juicy bits are.
In this section, people can also like the webinar and Facebook and share it on Twitter
to get a little engagement on social media channels. Now, to put this all into play,
let's go inside LeadPages and customize this page. I want to focus on three very important
elements of the page, the video, the one click adds to calendar buttons and the webinar worksheet
sections. Like with all of our pages, you just click on something to edit it. To add
the video that directs people what to do on this page, upload the video to YouTube, get
the embed code and then click on the video section and paste the code in this box. Click
okay and the video is ready to rock.
Now to setup the one click add to calendar buttons, we need to setup some things in the
dynamic control section. So we're just going to go through all these boxes and fill them
out to make sure all the info we need is there. So enter an organizer email if you have one.
Enter the URL of webinar registration page so when someone likes this page, it will like
the registration page and not this thank you page. From there, we'll add the event description,
add your Twitter ID, add the event time zone and you can find this number on addthisevent.com.
So for example, if I wanted to make this the Eastern Time zone, we go to addthisevent.com
and in the drop down we'd find the Eastern Time zone. And you can see that it says zone
15. So we'll go back to our page and we'll add zone 15 in this box.
Again, enter the URL of the webinar registration page so when someone tweets the page, it sends
the registration page URL and not this thank you page. Add your Facebook URL so when people
like the page, it adds a like to your fan page on Facebook. The event title here is
super important. This is what will show on someone's calendar. So add a title of your
event here. If there is an event organizer, add that here. Now, add a start date and the
end date of your event. Finally, an event location and then click save. Now all of your
one click add to calendar buttons are setup and functional.
Finally, in the gift box section, just add an image of your worksheet or something that
represents what they're going to be getting. The Twitter and Facebook URL's that we setup
in dynamic controls link up to these buttons as well as ones further out the page so they
share the correct information. Now, finally, we need a link to our webinar worksheet with
this button. It will just upload your worksheet to a service like Amazon S3 and then get the
URL and paste it on this box. When you're done customizing, just name the page and then
once I save the page, it's now live on the internet and as soon as I hit publish, LeadPages
gives me a URL I can immediately view live on the internet. You can see the add to calendar
buttons are working great and this page is all set.
Back in the publishing window, you can also publish the page to WordPress, publish the
page to Facebook as a Facebook tab if you wanted to or you can download the file and
put it on your own server. If you're not a LeadPages customer, you will need to be a
coder or hire a coder to make the downloadable template below work. For none LeadPages customers,
it's a bit more difficult to setup. Here's what you need to do if you're not a LeadPages
customer. If you're a developer, click on the link below and opt in to get the webinar
thank you page template and our lead magnet delivery system will deliver it to you. Modify
the HTML and CSS using your coding skills or the coder you've hired. Integrate it with
your auto responder, WordPress etcetera. Get your landing page code that you've generated
and finally publish the page.
So these are all the steps that you need to take if you're not a LeadPages customer. If
you are a LeadPages customer, you don't need to download this template. It's already in
the member's area and you can start using it there. Try out this page and let us know
your results in the comments below this video. If you're not a LeadPages customer and you'd
like to use this template, head to www.leadpages.net to get LeadPages.
I'm Jeff Wenberg. Have a wonderful day.
