And now it's time for our final arts and culture segment of the week with Michelle Kim. Let's
see what she has for us today. Hello Michelle.
Hello Conn-young.
So, what's new in the arts and entertainment world?
Well to start us off today, I have a short preview of a sci-fi romance flick by a best-selling
author that will be released here in Korea in the first week of April. Take a look.
Stephenie Meyer, best-selling author of the vampire phenomenon, "The Twilight Saga," stepped
out for the premiere of her latest novel-turned-film in Los Angeles on Tuesday night with stars
Saorise Ronan,
Max Irons and Diane Kruger all walking the red carpet with her to promote the film.
"The Host" is a sci-fi romance that tells the story of an unseen enemy who threatens
humanity by taking over people's bodies and erasing their memories.
Melanie Stryder, played by Saoirse Ronan, risks everything to protect the people she
cares about most -- Jared, Ian, her brother Jamie and her Uncle Jeb.
With the author's previous novel having become a film fad for younger fans, some may wonder
whether she worries about their expectations for this one.
"I'm not sure. I think if they go into it wanting a repeat of 'Twilight' they probably
will not be thrilled, because it is not."
Actress Saoirse Ronan also commented on whether all the attention on the "Twilight" series
had made her decision to take on the role difficult.
"I was certainly aware that there would be a lot of attention around us. For me, it was
fine and it was very much about the story."
The new sci-fi film opens in Korea on April 4th.
