Clean and delicious. That's the motto that cooks at every military
chow hall stand behind. That's because every month dining facilities
have a food inspection. Corporal Geoff Mongiat has the story.
[Mongiat] From chipped beef to lettuce, all incredible edibles can potentially make
you sick. Food inspection is one of the many tasks Preventative
Medicine, or PM, is responsible for.
PM is making sure the chow hall is preparing, handling, and storing food properly.
Once a month, PM checks the Soto Cano Air Base chow hall
to make sure they correspond with all military regulations regarding food.
For example, on chicken, if chicken is not heated to the proper temperature,
which is 165, then you could get salmonella from chicken.
[Mongiat] Preventative Medicine is one of the biggest reasons you can enjoy your food.
