Yeah!
- WHISTLING - Soo-ee!
- Hi, Ariela! - Hiya, my butterfly buddy.
- Howdy, Tom and Twigs. - I hear you need some help.
I sure do. I've run out of gummy leaf. It's all these fellas eat.
I've got to herd them up to the top field fast to get them fed.
- Do you want us to help herd them too? - Yee-ha!
I've always had a hankering to be a rancher!
SHE LAUGHS
What's so funny?
You two? Ranchers? Herding these beetles?
I don't think so!
- Remember last time? - We did all right.
All you have to do to be a rancher is lead the beetles along. Right?
Oh, no. It's like I told you before. Being a rancher ain't easy.
It takes certain skills to wear this here badge.
You have to keep the beetles under control.
They must learn to trust ya, and most important of all,
you have to work as a team.
Ranchers and beetles together.
Ooh. Nice beetley-weetley.
- BEETLE HOWLS - Oh.
Easy now, fella.
So, what do you need our help with?
Well, you boys just follow me.
- Wowza! - Wow!
I need you two to keep an eye on these here beetle eggs.
Oh, I'm on it!
Whoa! Done!
Oh, yes, I'm good. Eh, it's a bit uncomfortable.
How long am I supposed to stay here for?
Er, that's a little too close, Twigs.
I just meant look after them.
Oh, I knew that. Putting my eye on it, really? I mean, come on.
It was a joke!
Continue.
Well, they ain't due to hatch for a while yet, but I want to make sure
the eggs are safe while I'm away getting the gummy leaves for the hatchlings.
They have to eat soon after they're born, or they're in big trouble.
OK, that sounds egg-stremely easy!
Yeah, yeah. "Egg-cellent," in fact!
Thanks, guys.
SHE WHISTLES
OK, girl. Let's go.
You two as ranchers. That is a funny one!
See you, then. We'll look after the eggs.
Yee-ha.
I spy with my little eye
something beginning with... B.
It's not "barn" again, is it?
- Err... maybe. - SCUTTLING
- Did you hear that, Twigs? - What?
It sounded like scratching.
Did it sound like this?
HE SCRATCHES
- Yes! - Then that's definitely scratching.
There it is again! It's coming from...
- the barn! - Oh.
Well, not really scratching.
It's more of a sort of egg breaking-y sort of a sound.
Aargh!
BOTH: The eggs!
The eggs have hatched early!
But where are the baby beetles?
SQUEAKING
BOTH: Aargh!
It's OK, beetles. We're here to keep an eye on you.
What's wrong with them, Tom?
I don't know. I guess they're probably hungry
and they want to see their mom and dad.
- But Ariela's taken them to the top field. - I know!
And there's no gummy leaf here to feed them.
And Ariela said they have to eat, and soon!
Twigs, we're going to have to take these beetles
to the top field ourselves.
But Ariela said we couldn't do it. You heard her.
IMITATES ARIELA: "You two, ranchers? I don't think so."
CRYING
We're doomed!
No, we're not, Twigs. We CAN do this.
Yeah! Yeah, of course we can! That's what I said.
Getting the beetles to the top field is going to be tough.
We're going to need all the help we can get.
We need to do the moves that turn our magic powers on.
Come on, join in! Time for Tree Fu!
MUSIC STARTS
We need to turn the magic on
We need to save the day, come on
Just follow me and you will see
The magic comes from you and me
To make Tree Fu spells, do what you see
Slide to the side
And jump right back
Hold your hands up high
Spin around, reach up for the sky
Touch your nose, now make a pose
Clap your hands
Touch your knees
And run with me
When you move, you make the magic
Do what I do to make the magic
Turn that, turn that, turn that
Turn that Tree Fu magic on!
Look! The sapstone in my belt is glowing!
Moving turned our magic on.
Thanks for your help.
Right, Twigs.
Now we're ready to be ranchers
and herd those beetles up to the top field.
Are you sure about this, Tom?
Ariela didn't think we were up to the job.
She said, "Being a rancher ain't easy."
Come on, Twigs.
They're just babies. What could possibly go wrong?
Um, that.
- Hey, come back! - Yeah, what he said!
Why are they running away?
They must be scared. They don't know us yet.
And if they don't know us, they don't trust us.
Don't worry, I can handle this.
You can trust us!
- We are lovely! - SQUEALING
Oh. Oh.
Oh! Ah! Oh! Tom!
I think I've made things worse!
They're heading towards Creaky Cliff.
Stop!
What does Ariela do?
HE WHISTLES
It worked!
Good one, Tom.
You are a genius. Let me try that.
HE SPLUTTERS
TOM LAUGHS
Ow. I think my fingers are out of tune.
Hey! How about we give them names?
Good idea.
He should be Beedle Beedle.
And she should be Beedle Boodle.
And what about the little one?
- He's Ringo. - Perfect!
HE WHISTLES
Ha! This rancher business isn't hard at all.
Tom, my wings are aching.
Do you want to walk?
Then my feet would ache. Couldn't we...
ride the bigger beetles? Like Ariela does.
I don't know. They'd have to really trust us first.
Look at this face! How could they not trust me?!
You're right, Twigs. Let's do it.
One. Two. Three.
BEETLE SQUEALS
Easy pea... Whoa!
Whoa! They're charging into the corn field.
Oh, no! That's not just any old corn - that's thunder pop corn.
Why is it called that?
CORN POPS LOUDLY
- Do I still need to answer that question? - Er, no.
Quick! We've got to catch them or they'll get lost.
- Oh, no! - You get Ringo, and I'll get the others. Come on!
Gotcha!
Huh?
Stay calm, stay calm, stay calm.
I'm OK, I'm OK.
Ooh.
Oh, this is impossible.
Ooh. Yum. Aw.
Maybe we could eat our way out of here.
I'm not sure that's going to work, Twigs.
We can't lose them.
We've got to find a way to get away from the popping corn
to the other side, fast.
- They're too frightened by the popping corn. - That's it!
We need to protect the beetles from the sound.
Twigs, can you get them to run towards me?
Er... yeah, OK.
Here I go.
We'll have to use Big World magic to make a safe magic tunnel
that leads right out of the field, so I need your help.
It's time to do the Protecto Tunnel Spell. Are you ready?
Tree Fu, go!
Right. Copy me.
Into your spell pose.
Kneel down on one knee,
then kneel down on the other knee.
Put your hands to the side,
draw an arch up. Raise up and down.
Draw an arch back. Raise up and down.
Crawl your hands out across the front.
Crawl back and sit.
Stand up and draw arches with both hands.
Great! Same moves again.
One knee down.
Other knee down.
Hands to the side.
Arch up and down.
Arch up and down.
Crawl your hands out across the front.
Crawl back and sit.
Stand up and arches with both hands.
Now clap and say,
"Protecto Tunnel," to send the magic to me.
Protecto Tunnel!
Whee! Woo-hoo!
They're coming your way.
Well done, Twigs.
Woo-hoo!
Aw, yes!
We're almost through.
We made it! Thanks for your help.
Our magic tunnel worked!
We're almost there, Tom.
The top field's not far.
Wow, looks like we're actually going to make it, fellas.
- Wow! - Cool, eh?
- I think they're getting hungry. - Me too.
Luckily, I saved this from the corn field.
- Twigs, no! - CORN POPS
BEETLES SCREAM
Oh, sorry! I forgot.
HE SPUTTERS
I'll stop them!
Twigs, are you all right? Where are you?
They could be anywhere.
Ariela was right. Being a rancher isn't easy.
WHISTLING
That sounded like...
WHISTLING
Don't tell me Twigs has learned to whistle?
HE WHISTLES
WHISTLED RESPONSE
Keep whistling, I'm coming for you!
WHISTLING
Whoa!
Tom, you're here. We're stuck!
I don't know why they call this stuff quicksand.
Its taking forever to get out of here.
Twigs! Beetles!
Stop, or you'll get stuck too!
OK, I'll fly over and pull you all out.
It's no good, Tom. I'm stuck here forever.
Don't worry, I'll save you.
We've got to get everyone out of this quicksand
by lifting them out with Big World magic.
So I need your help. It's time to do the Super Lifto Spell.
Are you ready? Tree Fu, go!
Right. Copy me.
Into your spell pose.
OK, kneel down on the floor with your hands by your hips.
Crossing your body, lift one hand up.
Crossing your body, lift the other hand up.
Now, lift both hands up together.
Kneel up high.
Crossing your body, lift one hand up.
Crossing your body, lift the other hand up.
Now lift both hands up together.
Step forward, and lift!
Really good.
Same moves again.
Kneel down.
Hands by hips.
Crossing, lift one hand,
The other hand.
Both hands together.
Kneel high.
One hand, the other hand,
both hands together.
Step and lift!
Now clap, say, "Super Lifto," to send the magic to me.
Super Lifto!
We did it! Thanks for your help.
Thanks, Tom. You saved us from a sticky situation.
Oh! Oh!
- Twigs! - No!
Ah! Oh!
Oh, no! Not again.
My arm's trapped. We can't get out.
Beetles, can you help?
Help us. Please!
BOTH: Oh.
Ariela was right. Maybe we're not cut out for ranching.
We haven't even managed to get the beetles
to like us enough to want to help.
We're doomed!
Twigs, look!
I knew they would come back for us.
Hold on tight!
Everyone pull together. Work as a team!
I'm pleased we're all safe too, Ringo.
May I call you Ringo?
What are you doing, Beedle Beedle?
Oh!
Do you mean I can ride on your back?
Whoa!
Thanks!
Look! Me too.
Look, Tom, we're real ranchers now!
Yee-ha! Come on, partners.
Yee-ha! Let's ride!
Whoa! I'm not sure this beetle knows what he's doing.
Look out, everyone! Beetle reversing. Coming through!
That's it. Eat your fill
while I pick some gummy leaves
to take back for when the young'uns hatch.
- Howdy, partner! - Where is everyone?
Oh, what are you all doing back here?
Ariela, look! We brought the young'uns to ya.
Well, I'll be a rooster's cousin!
- Really?! - How'd you get them up here?
TOM: Hard work, that's how.
"Being a rancher sure ain't easy."
But how did y'all know what to do?
- We didn't, at first.
But you can learn fast when you have to. Isn't that right, Twigs?
Yup, we're a team now. Right, guys?
HE SPUTTERS
HE WHISTLES
Hey!
Yee-ha!
Then y'all deserve a badge.
Just like the real ranchers wear. Well done, fellas.
I didn't think you had it in ya.
Wow, pointy. Woo!
Look at that, I'm a rancher!
Well, now that y'all are proper ranchers,
want to help me get the beetles back home?
I'd love to, Ariela, but I think it's time for me to go home too.
But I'll keep this to remind me of our amazing ranching adventure.
Yee-ha to that!
HE WHISTLES
I'm going to take you up on that offer there, Ariela. Let's ride!
Ha!
Oh, look out back there!
Coming through.
See you soon, partners.
- So long, Rancher Tom. - So long, partner. Yee-ha!
Thanks for helping me in Treetopolis.
See you soon for another adventure.
Bye for now!
