(Dr. Anthony Tricoli) Courtney missed a lot of class
and was lim, and was limited to homebound instruction
after she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes
in the 6th grade.
Because of that, Courtney felt that
she lagged behind her peers.
She chose to come to Georgia Perimeter College
where she could gain a strong but affordable foundation.
Today, Courtney is graduating with a 3.6 GPA.

And she is headed to Georgia Tech.
Courtney has received three summer internship offers.
One from Washington University to work with geno/bio researchers,
the, the other one from Rutgers University to work
with pharmaceutical research, and the third one,
which she has accepted, from Vanderbilt University
where, where she will work in diabetes research.

Courtney, I don't know if you ever were,
but you're certainly not now, lagging behind anyone.
Courtney credits GPC with helping her
get back on track, and I know great things lay ahead
for you, Courtney. Congratulations.
