Hi my name is Cathy and I'm a New York City food blogger.
I write a blog called "Not eating out in New York". It's all about shopping wisely and sustainably, using local ingredients and making the best of them with recipes at home.
When I heard about foragers city market I thought what a great concept to make so much sense to have a restaurant attached to a market.
And the shop invited me to come take a look at some of the dishes they were preparing and I just couldn´t resist to getting a little sneak peek of the menu.
Here at foragers we really just want to bring the food that you're eating and the fork that you´re using to eat it with much closer together.
And that's why we´re all about sustainable, we like to buy local.
New York City is the most unlikely place to grow great ingredients and people are doing such a great job at urban gardening...
and at growing food, raising chickens for eggs and just getting back to the basics about what great food really is all about.
I usually take city subways, buses or I ride my bicycle.
But when I was driving the smart electric drive around town I was really surprised to find that it made no sound at all.
It was so quiet and it was really peacefully to drive in.
And I think it's so possible to live in harmony with nature in a big city like New York.
It's a trend that is spreading, which is very exciting to see happen.
