Two scriptures that highlight important things to remember are:
The reason I felt inclined to make this video is because I often see people who act as if they have nothing left to learn, or are incapable of being wrong.
And before someone makes a wrong assumption, I have much to learn and could be wrong myself.
Is the same true for you?
Usually they are then unwilling to listen to opposing views, or only listen in order to refute them.
Since only God knows the thoughts and intents of man, we can only make judgements.
If we make judgements we should strive to see things from another's point of view as much as is possible.
About Pharaoh we read:
Unwillingness to listen is sadly evident in the body of Christ as well.
Often people who teach are unwilling to listen those who challenge what they are teaching.
Various times in the scriptures God even used unbelievers to speak his words, or act as his servants.
Because of this we need to be willing to hear out anyone who challenges any belief we hold.
Fear should not be an issue as I hope we all want to pursue truth regardless of where it leads.
This includes whatever church, organization, or denomination teaches.
Listen to the following scripture:
To speak about something you have not been informed of is not wise.
Misconceptions are common in this world, so we must make sure we know exactly what people are expressing, and this can only be done through listening.
By not listening we can end up departing from truth.
Listen to this scripture:
I often ask people if they are open to correction, because many people are not.
If someone attempts to correct us we should not reject it, but evaluate their words for any truthfulness.
Hear this scripture:
The people in Thessalonica believed a message without even verifying if what they were told was true.
A degree of criticalness is healthy, but with that we should still be willing to listen and investigate what we are told for truthfulness.
Some people who attempt to correct others just do so to show off in front of others.
If you discern this, speak to them privately and see if they still want to correspond.
I'll close with the words of the Lord Jesus:
