Hi, welcome to M&J Trimming!
This season is all about creative, one-of-a-kind pieces. This week I'll be showing how to
make a simple but glamorous necklace, a perfect accessory for the spring season.
The materials you will need are two yards of silk ribbon, two yards of hand-dyed silk
ribbon, two yards of silver chain, silk rosettes, scissors, and a hot glue gun.
First step, tape one side of the 3 trims together, leaving about 3 inches of extra trim before
you tape. Then tape to the table for a steady grip. Now start braiding the 3 trims until
you reach the bottom. Leave about 3 inches of unbraided trim at the end.
Take both ends and tie a knot with the extra trim left over. Then take your scissors and
cut the extra trim on a slant, leaving about 2 inches.
Trim the edges of the rosettes. Now cut one rosette off a row of 3 and hot glue the 2
connected rosettes on top of the knotted trim. Then glue the last rosette on top of the other
rosettes for an overlapping effect, and you're finished.
That's all for this week's clip. Be sure to check out our blog for a list of materials
and more creative ideas.
Thanks again.
