Hi, I'm Chris Hildebrand of Hildebrand Law. I want to talk to you about Arizona child
abuse laws and specifically, what is a mandated reporter and who are mandated reporters with
respect to child abuse. A mandated reporter by statute, by law, is required to report
either to the law enforcement or Child Protective Services any concerns or reasonable beliefs
that a child has been either abused or neglected. The types of individuals that are mandated
reporters are police officers, medical professionals such as doctors and nurses, mental health
professionals such as counselors and social workers and psychologists, school and school
personnel, parents, step parents or guardians of children, or any person who is in a position
of caring for a child such as a day care provider. If you have any other questions regarding
whether you are a mandatory reporter or what the mandatory reporting laws in Arizona, please
feel free to email me at Chris@hildebrandlaw.com and I hope this information was helpful to
you.
