Nithyanandam ! My name is Manmohan Kumar. I am from
Los Angeles Temple. I like to share with you my experience with Ajapa Japa.
So I have been doing Ajapa Japa for last 2 weeks. Initially when I gave my
name for Ajapa Japa, I was worried that how am I going to sit and do
Ajapa Japa for hours becuase I put my name for 6 hours in the afternoon.
So the first day I was anxious ,little nervous, feeling jittery.
But I started it and it was somewhat difficult. I had to move the prayer wheel
from one hand to another hand. Sit for a while. Get up, walk around. But as the
day progressed, it got easier. The next day I was looking forward to coming and
doing Ajapa Japa. And since then I have done almost 2 weeks of at least 6 hours a day.
And sometimes even more maybe 8, 9 hours a day. It has really helped me
quite a bit. One is my energy in the evening after Ajapa Japa is much
more than when I started Ajapa Japa. And the second thing is my thoughts have
gone down to some extent. Not totally. During Ajapa Japa it is
better, mind is under control more or less. But more so when
I go home. And I also noticed that sometimes waking up at night I am
still doing Ajapa Japa. The inner Ajapa Japa. Some days getting up in the morning
still Ajapa Japa is going on. And yesterday I went to a movie with
my family and I realised about half an hour later I started doing Ajapa Japa
sitting in the theatre with all the noise of the movie. So it has helped me
quite a bit in reducing thoughts probably better concentration
and more energy by the end of the day. So I suggest if somebody is interested
it is a very good technique to help yourself and it is a form of meditation.
