How to lose weight eating fast food. Can that be done? I do believe there was a movie that
came out not too long ago, and proved that wrong. I'm going to give you some tips though,
you can make some better choices definitely. Hi, my name is Jani Roberts, I'm a graduate
of the American Academy of Nutrition, and also, a Certified Personal Trainer. First
of all, just remember, you want to lose weight, you've got to burn calories, right? So there's
about 3 thousand calories in a pound. So in order to eliminate 1 pound of weight, we've
got to eliminate 3 thousand calories. Lets say we shoot for doing that in 1 week, that's
doable, right? No problem. So, you're pulling up to the fast food place, you know you shouldn't
be there, right? Okay. So, but you're going to make the best choice that you can. First
of all, don't get the packages, okay. They're just overselling you more than what you really
need to eat anyway. Second of all, try not to go there when you're really, really hungry,
because we always overeat. It's like grocery shopping when you're starving, you always
buy more stuff than you really need, and you don't always make the best choices. So just
buy the single items. Also, try to choose a salad, but don't use their salad dressing,
you got to keep a stash of your own. Make sure, you can always get packets to go. I
know in the health food stores, they have organics, Newman's Organics, different things
like that, you can buy in single serving packets, they're delicious, but you're not getting
those mega doses of fat. It's not that illusion of, oh, I'm eating a salad, it's really good
for me, when in reality you're taking in more fat that you need for 3 or 4 days. So you
want to be careful about what they put on top. The baked potatoes, always a better choice,
careful about the topping, just a little bit, not too much. And, maybe if you can, avoid
eating all of the bun. Maybe you just get the chicken sandwich, and you eat half of
the bun, that way. Choose mustard instead of mayonnaise, it's a great condiment, you
can get spicy or plain, and it doesn't have any fat in it; much better choice. Ultimately,
I would love you to work your way away from the fast food restaurants, and start eating
healthier from home. Do the best that you can, now you've got to take it one step at
a time, right? I'm Jani Roberts, thanks for joining.
