He returns us now to a question that He begins this lesson with, and it's an odd question
because most people don't ask it. "What, then, is required for True Knowledge to exist?
What is indeed required to abide in The Way of Knowing?"
Hint, hint, hint! True Knowledge and The Way of Knowing, one and the same.
And He lets us know. Take a nice deep breath. "To fully accept that not one trace of your
seeking has ever brought you [closer] to Reality;" Let's take a nice deep breath. Wait a minute,
I've been seeking, seeking, seeking, trying to find the answers. Not one trace of it has
brought me closer to Reality. Well, this is one of those statements by the way that the
ego, Advaita Vedanta and several other . . . the ego will hear this and say, that's it, whatever,
"I'll just be me, just be my old impulsive self, unconscious. There's no sense in seeking.
There's no further enlightenment. I can't grow anymore." It's a complete mistake.
It's absolutely a complete mistake. It doesn't mean that at all.
"not one modality" Well wait a minute, I practiced transcendental
meditation, actually still do sometimes, but the first ten years assiduously doing my yoga,
reading my books, burning my candle through the night, contemplating, burning, wondering, questioning,
this meditation and this chakra thing, and I'll send this and all . . . . You
try it all on, don't ya? He goes, "not one modality has ever held the power
to bring you closer to God;" Ouch! 'But I really liked that. Oh, man
this was intense. What an experience I had. Oh, I'm getting closer.' No, you aren't,
but we just don't see it yet. "that never could it have ever been truly
possible for you to make progress toward the Consciousness of God."
You can't make progress. Uh, uh. What is He talking about? Well, He begins to let us know.
"For all the while, you have been the One you are seeking,
pretending to be a seeker. And for what reason, for what reason have
you entertained . . . . " It's not the first time He has said this.
We think separation is a very serious affair. Seriousness is part of the dream of separation.
Why have we done this? He says you've entertained yourself. The reason is simply this.
There's a lot to this and we maybe might not quite get to it today. The answer is simple, to do it.
Why did the dream of separation ever take place?
Years ago when Jeshua was asked this during the live channeling days, the room
got really quiet and they told me this later because I was gone. They said it was very
quiet and He sat there for several minutes, nothing happened and then He said, "Why not?"
Why the ego? Why not? There's a profound truth in there. Why not? Why are
you judging it? Why are you perceiving it as a mistake?
What if you are not seeing it correctly? What if the entire dream is an aspect of the unfolding
of Divine potential that flowers the potential of God to come into form?
What if the ego is God's process of becoming, until it's no longer needed, just like training wheels
on a bicycle? What if it's just a stage to pass through? What if it's a booster
rocket and once you get out of the atmosphere it can fall off and it's no longer needed,
but was it ever a mistake? That would mean there can be a mistake in God. Does that really
make sense by the time we get to year three of these teachings? Can I really settle for
still believing that God is capable of a mistake? Does that really make sense any longer?
"The reason is simply . . . to do it. [For] the Mind of God does not deny any possibility,
for It sees nothing that can obstruct the purity of Its own nature."
If you are That One and you know you are infinitely free, you're not going to deny any possibility
because Love doesn't have to deny anything, which means ego is going to arise, which means
the dream is going to arise as a stage that is played out. The ego denies everything ~ hmm?
He is giving you something important here to remember. Wait a minute, if the Mind of
God does not deny any possibility, what possibilities am I still denying in myself? I'll never
be able to heal my mother wound. I can't possibly get on a stage in front of 3,000
people and talk about God. Yer, it goes on and on and on. We don't see it is just the
energy of denial. A thing comes to create a new vision.
You land in Bali with no plan. Well, if ego is in charge, you get on a plane and go home,
somewhere where it's safe and you know you can get a job. But the Mind of God denies
nothing, so you just lie on the floor and breathe, see what happens. Might die ~ so
what? Make sense? So, He's letting you know the Mind of God denies no possibility. Huh,
where am I still in denial of possibility in myself? Where am I still trying to hold
onto an ego image of myself? Where am I not letting a marriage end? You know. I haven't
talked to the woman for thirty years but hey we're married and that's for life. Where
do I not let things in? Where do I not fully allow things to begin and flower? Where do
I not trust the flow? What then is it that requires True Knowledge?
He gives us the answer to the question that He started the whole lesson with.
"God does." God requires True Knowledge. As the Divine
has birthed Itself as you, you've gone through stages of what we call unconsciousness, you've
taken on the dream, you've experienced loneliness, depression, anger, revenge. All of these too,
are the potentials, the infinite potentials of possibilities. Make sense? Was there ever
a mistake with Him? I have news for you. There will be a place in which you will look upon
every energy you have ever encountered, experienced, apparently caused, it doesn't matter, and
you will not be able to see anything that was ever an accident or a mistake, that was
not imbued with the purpose of God's Love. And you will feel nothing but gratitude and
you will be blown away of how intricate Holy Perfection actually is. You will be blown
away. Just absolutely ~ the mind is blown, all of its thoughts and perceptions, just
~ phsst ~ the wiring is ~ tzut. You just can't do it anymore.
So God requires True Knowledge. Who are you, then, really? We've all believed we're
the body. We believe we're the ego. We believe we're the thing that is separate, and can
be wounded, the thing that must protect itself, the thing that is unworthy, the thing that
is fearful, the thing that is needy. Make up your own list. What does He say to us that
you really are? "You are literally"
~ interesting that He uses the word 'literally'. He's doing this so you don't fall into
the trap of thinking He's just talking symbolically, 'Well, He doesn't really mean it, it's
just a metaphor.' No, He means ~ when Jeshua says literally, He means, literally.
"You are literally the Field of Awareness of God in which God has awareness of Himself,"
So take a moment and take your right fingernails and scratch your left arm. "I'm the Field
of Awareness in which God is having awareness of Himself, right now." That's it. How
much more obvious can God be. (Jayem slaps his arm) Oh but, you see I'm not the body.
I read in this book that the body is unreal and the world is unreal and of course the
book is in the world, but that doesn't matter. I read it in the book and it's really the
truth and the truth is real and so when I'm scratching my arm, I'm not really scratching
my arm because there really isn't an arm. Mental ***, silliness, just plain
silliness. Scratching my arm: God is. Feel it. (slaps again) In fact, I could really
dig my fingernails in and maybe draw blood. Oh, ouch! God is.
Haa. You are, "the Field of Awareness of God in which
God has awareness of Himself, because you are the Power of God,"
Take a nice deep breath. This is a realization that begins to dawn, as we do our work, we
start from where we are kicking and screaming, convinced we are unworthy, convinced we are
unloved ~ we're convinced of the dream, that's the whole point. Gradually you come
to see, I couldn't even hope to awaken if the Power of God was not already present.
How is it that I felt that feeling that I've never been able to feel before? There must
be something within me that I didn't know was there. That's the Power of God and you
are that. "only by that Power have you ever been able
to be aware of something that has appeared to be other than God,"
Listen to what He says. This is to me one of the most precious things. It's implied
throughout A Course in Miracles, rarely gotten by anybody who reads the thing. Listen to
what He says: "even fear rests in Love."
How many of us, when we're feeling the fear, and go, 'Well, you know, the truth is even
this is resting in the Field of Love. And if it's in the Field of Love, I can trust
this. I can feel it fully. I don't have to fight with it any longer. Even this is
resting in Love.' Even fear rests in Love. "fear, contraction, and the dream of separation"
have required Love all along. Because they cannot arise on their own. They have no existence
on their own. All effects have a cause. Love is absolute cause. It is the field in which
all things may arise and pass away. Fear is an effect of a contraction away from Love
but the Love has to already be present before I can even contract away from it.
Let's all take a deep breath. Even my fears are resting in Love, what hope do my fears
have to win the game? Forget about it. Love's winning all the time. Your ego doesn't have
a prayer. It's an effect. It's arising. There's an amazing field of learning and
growth that occurs for the Soul and then it's going to fade away. It doesn't have a prayer
in hell of ever remaining. My fears, no matter how strongly I'm identified
with them in the moment, they don't have a prayer of remaining constant and eternally
present. Anybody here had a fear, come to this Pathway work, learned to breathe, practiced
Radical Inquiry and watched the fear dissolve? Where does it go? It dissolved into Love.
What does that tell you? It doesn't become Love. Love's already there from which you've
drawn the power to face the fear in the first place. The gig is up. Everything rests in
Love. That's the end of the story. Okay, here we go.
So fear, contraction, and the dream of separation require Love, and here He repeats something
that He just said to us. Being Jeshua He's doing a very good job of constantly dropping
the pebbles in deeper and deeper so it begins to sink.
"Love allows all things, trusts all things, embraces all things, and therefore transcends
all things." The Mind of God already knows this. I'm
God. I already transcend everything that can arise as an effect of my infinite potential.
So why do I have to resist anything arising? There wouldn't be any fear would there?
Whoosh, here comes Creation out of my beingness. Isn't that a ball? Shoo, and it dissolves
back into my beingness. Love allows all things. In this Pathway through Palpable Forgiveness
we learn so much about how to bring this to the practice that brings transformation. Allow
that feeling. Breathe into that hardness. It's all the cultivation of the presence
of Love. And it's Love that awakens us. It's Love that heals us.
But it doesn't do it for us. We choose it. When I choose to breathe into my grief, I've
already decided I think I'll choose Love and let Love bring about the alchemy that
awakens me. Or I can resist it and say, 'No, I refuse to breathe.'
Great, then I'm simply saying that I'm not ready to awaken to Love. That's okay,
too. Why? ~ because resistance and fear rest in Love. It's going to lose. May not be
today. It could be and it's okay if it isn't, because God doesn't deny any possibility.
This is why Jeshua once said to me, 'Because you have time and I have none, I will outlast
you.' I didn't like that at the time.
