Colorado theater shooting suspect James Holmes is reportedly claiming he doesn’t know why
he’s in jail.
That’s according to a report from the New York Daily News, which says Holmes keeps asking
jailhouse workers, quote, “Why am I here?”
WGHP has more.
“Holmes is in solitary confinement for 23 hours a day. He's only out for one hour to
walk around. As for the amnesia, jail staffers told the Daily News they think he's faking
it.”
Inside Edition says Holmes is also …
“ … bellyaching about prison food and some days reportedly doesn't eat at all. Authorities
are so concerned for his safety that when he's allowed out for his one hour of exercise
on the prison yard, he wears a bulletproof vest.”
Then, there’s this. Holmes is allegedly taking his memory loss back to that Colorado
movie theater where he’s accused of killing 12 people and injuring more than 50. Here’s
WOFL.
“There are reports that he’s been trying to talk to jailhouse staff, even asking questions
like, ‘I just want to know how the movie, “Batman” ended.’”
The Associated Press reports Holmes’s next hearing is scheduled for Monday in Arapahoe
County District Court.
