Hi, I'm Terri Steenblock, Assistant Commissioner of Individual Taxes. And this is the first
in a series of videos to keep you updated of improvements to e-Services.
e-Services is our new online system that allows business tax payers to file and pay, access
account information, and conduct a variety of tax related business electronically.
e-Services replaces our former system, e-File. The department transitioned to this new solution
for the wide range of functions it offers, which meet the growing needs of taxpayers.
There are many benefits to using e-Services. Some examples of what the system allows taxpayers
to do includes: - Making payments online,
- Viewing, filing or amending your returns, - Submiting W-2 information, and
- Exchanging and viewing correspondence with the department.
We rely on user feedback to make e-Services a success. We did conducted usability testing
to make improvements to the system. Results of the study are in and the new enhancements
will include: - Simplifying the page layout and navigation,
- Consistently and clearly labeling screens and functions,
- Providing assistance when users need additional help, and
- Updating users who need to wait while the system is processing
Usability testers played a crucial role in developing a solution to make e-Services more
user-friendly and efficient. We value feedback that will make e-Services even better.
These new enhancements will be available beginning March 4, 2013. And we will provide updates
to you periodically to inform you about our progress.
We encourage you to contact the department with any feedback or questions you may have.
