My name is Donna Barber. My name is Ladonna Watts.
I started the program first and I was telling my daughter about it. I'm like, "Ladonna,"
"Check out Ashford." So one day, I'm at work and
I'm like, "You know what? I'll finally do it." And I'm like, "Cool!"
Ladonna is my rock. She motivated me. We kind of motivated one another.
She's my rock. And for me, to be able to reverse the role and actually support her, it's an amazing feeling.
And I'm glad to know that I, too, am her rock.
I have an event planning company. I want to make that my full-time job.
That's what i'm looking to do. Even when I signed up Ashford, I'm like,
"Oh god,"
"18 months? That's a long time," but here I am
18 months later. I started as a junior project manager with the city colleges of Chicago.
After pursuing my MBA with Ashford University,
I received a promotion as a recruiter. I want to go into working in the community
with at-risk youth. And just, inspire them about going back to school and getting an education.
I'm lost for words right now like I-
I didn't see this day coming. You did it, you know. We're here. Together.
