It's January 1st 2014! I can't believe it's here already. Last year was a year of milestones
for me and the biggest one being turning sixty! For me, that was the hardest thing to admit.
I never, ever want anyone to know how old I was because I feel that in most cases, people
judge you based on your age. And I know that I don't really act like someone my age, well,
almost all of the time, I think because I love to learn. When we talk about New Year’s
resolutions, I think you’ll agree that they don’t work because people make them but
they are never serious about them. They don't find the “why” of them, and they don't
get right to the core of what that could mean for them. Last year, or actually the year
before last, my oldest daughter moved to France. I am so blessed to have the kids that I do
because I learn from them every day. Kristel has four kids, packed up and moved everything
to France. She had gone through a difficult divorce and had full custody of the kids.
He was okay with her going with the kids to France so off she went. The courage that,
that takes! She lives in the moment. Before she left, she said to me. “You know my life
is great here but I will always regret if I don't try! I will always regret it if I
don't try this, don't step out of my comfort zone. I talked about comfort the other day
and not wanting to make changes for fear of what might happen. I mean, what if something
really good happened? I know that with Kristel she wanted a little touchstone, so she decided
to get a small tattoo on the inside of her wrist. What she wanted written was “Live
This Moment in Totality.” In other words, each moment is the best moment up your life
because at this point in time it's the only moment I have. I don't know I'll be here tomorrow.
Chances are, I will but I really don't know and neither do you! When Kristel went in to
get her tattoo done she thought they were just going to put a stencil on her wrist so
she could wear it for awhile to see if she liked it. So when she got there, they said
to her, “No, you're getting your tattoo today!” It wasn't in quite the font she
wanted, and she's very particular about what she likes and doesn't like. Then she looked
at what it said, “Live This Moment in Totality” and she said, “You know what, I'm living
this moment in totality and the tattoo is going on today! Whether or not I like the
font, this is what it is talking about. It is be here, be present and take advantage
of this moment now!” Because had she left, would she have come back and gotten the tattoo?
Maybe not, right? So for my sixtieth year, I want this to be a year transformation. I'm
excited about it. I've already got some things in the works that I'm planning. I love what
I do for a living but it also allows me the ability to work anywhere in Canada, which
i think is awesome. I can go anywhere, and do anything I want pretty much, just as long
as I'm within the Canadian borders. I can actually spend time in France and ship directly
from head office. I have been told by head office not to use their trademarks so I will
lovingly refer to the company as the "M" word from now on. People can figure that out! Anyway,
this is going to be a year of transformation, it's going to be fun and it's going to be
something to write home about. I hope, I really hope that you will look at your life and see
where you can shake it up a bit and where you can transform and make things so much
better, because it always can be better! Anyway if you love my videos, please subscribe, forward
them on to friends and leave me a comment! Love to hear from you and don't forget to
subscribe to my email list on my website because I share things there that I don't share on
my videos. Have a great day!
