My name is Angele and I'm from Louisiana. If affordable care were not out there currently
I would not have insurance. I have looked outside before the Marketplace to see how
much prices were and it was just -- it was my whole check, basically. I am a single,
working mother, I'm 29 years old and I have a seven-year-old daughter. My daughter is
a lot of fun, a lot of energy, high energy. I do a lot of clerical work. I work forty
hours a week. I pay taxes out of my check. After work, I pick up my daughter, come home,
do homework, dinner, time for bed. Signing up for the health insurance was very painless.
It said "You are approved," and I was like "Really?" I pay $17.42 for my medical and
my dental insurance. I have a tax credit that helps me out a lot, being a single mother.
I can go to the doctor when I need to, I don't have to just go stop at a convenience store
and pick up some over-the-counter medicine. I can go see my doctor and get a prescription,
and be okay, and know that I'm not broke at the end of the month.
