10 what was expected to be a pretty big panel discussion at sea packed with
their minority
outreach panel but did that to be but I think that the people have been pouring
out of a million dollars in the past two years that the number is that
I into minority outreach I think that they expected after two years we have
some payoff at least
but in any event that the pain is called reaching out the rest of the story
and we got a couple about funny things happen there obviously it was not a big
thing let's take a look at the picture showing you out what the actual
discussion liked I love that pic now it's not be able to bring your
restoring her after that during it I don't think there's a human in there
aside from the photographer
WNBA game I why I think why
yeah
now look I know they made a mistake and called me in and now overly large room
and they perhaps should have thought better of it and realize that nobody at
the
see back conservative care Political Action Conference is going to show up to
that
outreach to minorities what could have caused or nature
let you go to hell that in a closet in New and it would've been fall right
up but it we have to understand the context the back
but it'll boa whole grains on fire today
yeah even so you understand the context because there was an event right
afterwards it was when Liam Lapierre was speaking
mmm that same room it looks like it's hard to fill well
overflow from there are no I'm not I love you mom threw us minor the
her so much %uh the what are the fellows the Brookings Institution on
would have had a good to quote comparing the fact that the the Lapierre's speech
was so big he said
the diversity panel the path to the party being successful in making inroads
in a traditionally democratic group
if the GOP want to see the Democratic Party struggle to
up elect a president they should win twenty percent of the african-american
vote or 50 percent Latino vote adding the vote in a few more gun rights
supporters will make the difference in 2016 and 2020
and beyond I think that things clear at great to get them all riled up they're
not voting for Democrats anyway
the gun rights against and totally right is never going to happen
because the too much work or the party don't like black people
done like Latin people so what's interesting is that had been exactly so
I guess there's something they made during the conference that you don't
have to
lose part the team to gain more people to the thing but actually
in this case they would have liked that because we think they have a good
portion of the Geo traditional GOP base that is reading bigotry and that's just
the truth
and I don't think that means that every republican is racist of course not but
they've got to decide how they want a light on this issue moving forward
and you know the country certainly browning and and you've got it
address look at it I didn't hauling with the concept and minority outreach you
know with the ramp are going to howard university with the
opening these ridiculous whole community centers with napping in it and then you
see this
you know just get on I get off the bus you know either you wanna be serious
about it will try to make them real
enrolled in terms of political agenda minority communities
art say you know what it's a wash and move on to another group did you think
you can help
you know progress they may be like a whitewash automatically that would be
okay with a great example above their inability to at least
even high in their contempt for these communities came up when I
a robber woods in is a GOP strategist he got into a
potential like scuffle I guess what another up one %uh the members of the
panel
it had to do with the democrats are buying support from minority communities
Butler we do have to make some investment and one of the frustrations
that I see from from our perspective and I know there are solutions
am is that the democrats using nonprofits and going into these
communities have lotsa goodies to offer
exact and our guys are exactly in the offering goodies business and so it's
harder for us to go in and do the same kind of thing
what can we do and I know you have experience with this all the time but
but I think you make I have to challenge its goodies
it bothers me when people assume that low-income people respond to gifts
food stamps are things in a given to them
that nobody wants to be dependent
so let's assume that people want a hand up and not a handout
what liberals do is the least they expressed their concern whether it
whether whether what they do is helpful or harmful
they show up that's right that's right and and and that is
you know and and that is the reason why the
change in languages in or that is a foreign concept when he says be there
nobody want to hand out that crowded eight people
we're headed there there think it now they want a hand-out
and yet you show up you have some honest like he's not
accident black people or Dom
right paid app in Apple's I believe you're here I would not cut
yeah like
they got it like that they know as much me better than anybody else
Weatherall the great society plans and the New Deal plans worked
but they didn't not totally work many of them didn't work
and what they got was they heard FDR and you hear
JFK and you heard LBJ once he made a significant changes in your like
okay he's geyser moderately interested in what's happening whether it works or
not and I get nothing from the other yet the lesser up to
what feels like on unfair situated let also I kept and if Mitt everyone
should know that the largest benefactors of our entire programs those times work
for whatever
actually white america like that so I don't know why that is still
a false narrative out there being promoted in my eso
too well two things about that a number one is that
actually the biggest beneficiary entitlements or multinational
corporations
right okay so the oil subsidies and and the list goes on and on
goodies though oh yeah business right number that's of course literally
exactly what they are no
crony capitalism in and agrees that are handed out to the rich and the powerful
or what actually killing our budget so but that's exactly why the question was
framed in the way that it was cuz
its projection everything they do is projection right so they feel like
well we get goodies we all the rich and powerful you goody so
I guess you think you're getting goodies and that's why you're voting for a
member that's why we vote for Obama as a gay cuz they give us good eats right
bike subsidies in contracts and no bid contracts et cetera et cetera
and then look at a premium that question how can anybody support
a republicans have been america's were republicans when the framing the
question
at the panel is well what we gonna do to get these black was when all they want
is good news
right right well you're not gonna get it that way admit that I could do it
