It is the size and the force. In a way the truck is like a friend.
Together we get through hard situations.
We're kind of connected.
In Europe, the representation of female truck drivers is less than 5 per cent.
Working for the Finnish haulage company Rinta-Könnö-
-26-year-old Johanna Noppa is one of them.
I was nineteen when a friend told me...
He drives this great big, fancy truck-
-and he told me "you would not believe how tough it is".
I just like: "I want to do that too!"
Eventually, Johanna enrolled in a driving course-
-where she learned how to operate a timber truck.
Today, she has been driving and operating timber trucks for four years.
The timber truck training course was hands-on practical work-
-from start to finish.
Exactly what I do today. The course taught me so much.
It was a really good basis.
Well, loading the truck, it is a kind of a dance.
Bumpy, unpaved roads and muddy ground where the truck could get stuck.
Working as a timber truck operator is a job full of challenges.
Actually, I have always managed in all situations-
-even though strength might have made it easier.
I have always found a way.
You think of a way at some point.
Well, for example, when there is a really bad looking place-
-somewhere that nobody can get through-
-and you really give everything you've got!
And then when you do manage, it is just the best thing!
Even if the representation of female truck drivers is low today-
-Johanna is convinced that trucks and transports really suits women.
Why wouldn't it suit women?
Of course it can. It depends on what you do.
If you are female and have even the slightest inclination-
-that trucking might be your thing, just go and try it out!
