Biking, hiking, bird watching—Portland has it all,
including some of the finest urban natural areas in the country.
We also have a great transit system.
Why not make your next outdoor adventure a truly “green” experience
by leaving your vehicle at home and taking transit to the trail?
For a first transit to trail experience, visit the Tualatin Hills Nature Park in Beaverton.
Take the MAX Blue Line to the Merlo Road/158th Station and it’s just a short walk to the park.
This wildlife park has five miles of trails and is accessible to all.
And, like our other featured Transit to Trail trips
it’s part of The Intertwine –our region’s connected network of parks, trails and nature areas.
For the more adventurous, experience the best of Portland's scenery and transit on the “4-T” Trail.
This loop trip from downtown Portland to Council Crest uses the MAX train, Portland Aerial Tram, and Portland Streetcar (or trolley),
as well as including a short, invigorating trail hike to Council Crest.
Along the way, you’ll experience the deepest tunnel in the United States,
the highest point in Portland and spectacular views of snow-capped mountains. The round trip takes about four hours.
For more information about these and other trails easily reached by TriMet, see trimet.org/trails.
Happy adventuring!
