Hello everyone.
The topic of this video is our approach for visualization of fog, water and sky.
So, we have spawned in the forest, just before sunrise.
The first thing to look at is how trees are smoothly drowning in the fog.
The fog color changes synchronously with sky color during the day.
One of the latest features is our new procedural sky,
for now it only changes its color with time and shows where the sun is,
however later it will include all necessary effects: stars, moon and clouds.
Here we are at the sight of the nearest shoreline and it’s exactly the time sun rises.
We can see that the sky becomes a bit red during this short time.
While sun position changes, it becomes brighter and dawn effect is smoothly suppressed.
Now let’s look at the water surface.
You can see the following effects on it:
reflection, underwater distortion and fluidity, which make the picture more lively and realistic.
The water smoothly merges with horizon, while sight range is about 200 meters (650 ft.).
Shoreline is gradually sinking in the water as well, without dissonance between land and water.
Let’s look at those effects with more tiny and dynamic objects.
As we can see, all the objects are correctly drawn underwater and on its surface.
For more visibility we will blow them up with grenade, so objects will fly away above the water.
Notice how smooth and exact reflections are for those fast moving objects.
Now what is going on underwater?
Here we also have reflections.
Sight range is much lower because fog is more thick and dark here, than above surface.
So this is the end of the day and this is time to say goodbye.
Next videos will follow soon.
If you are interested with details, we could make a tutorial about programming all this stuff.
Thanks for your attention, do not forget to rate and comment if you like to.
Goodbye.
