The restaurant La Fontaine de Mars is one of the oldest bistros in Paris
This mythical address is located on a tiny square
surrounded by 3 restaurants with a fountain in the middle, the “Fontaine de Mars”
Our restaurant is one the oldest in the city
as the café-bistro activity goes back to Napoleon III
At that time, the entrance of the military hospital was located on the square
The atmosphere of the restaurant is unique: it’s a real typical old-style Parisian bistro
People get in, get out, they feel comfortable
We propose a “bourgeois” cuisine based on the products offered on the market
We have tried, with our 2 chefs, to highlight the Southwest products
with a slight modern touch
We carve in the dining room and try as much as possible
to present the product,
which is no longer a habit in other restaurants
Our specialties are : Terrine or escalope of foie gras
Cassoulet prepared with haricot beans from Tarbes
and homemade sausages, we do not buy our sausages, we make them
Duck confit, Duck breast
The success of our restaurant rests upon the combination of a nice decor, a very good service,
a warm welcome and a delightful cuisine.
We have a large wine selection;
the waiters are managed by my wife who is an excellent sommelier
Our wine carte also contributes to our success
We offer a wide choice from all regions
and vintage Bordeaux
All this makes our customers happy and satisfied
