Welcome to How To Cook That I am Ann Reardon
Today I am doing a choc-chip cookie bake off with yoyomax.
I am going to share with you my secret recipe for chewy chocolate chunk pretzel cookies.
And you will not be able to eat just one they are so yummy. And today I am also doing a
bake-off with Tammy form yoyomax12 so she is making chic chip cookies for you and she
is making rainbow choc ship cookies. If you haven't seen Tammy's channel before make sure
you go and check it out she has heaps of sweet things and if you are watching How To Cook
That then I know you have a sweet tooth. So go check that out she has lots of wonderful
creations there as well. And I'll link to her video at the end of this one.
So to make these chewy chock chunk pretzel cookies firstly you are going to need to preheat
your oven to 150C or 300F then chop the chocolate into chunks. The better quality chocolate
you use the better your cookies will taste. Then measure out you butter, baking powder,
flour, glucose syrup or you can use corn syrup, coconut, brown sugar, white sugar, mini pretzels
and of course the chocolate. All of the recipe quantities that you need
are on the website howtocookthat.net there is a link in the description just below this
video directly through to the recipe. Add the glucose syrup or corn syrup to the
butter melt that in the microwave. Once it is melted sift in the flour and baking
powder Then add your coconut,
your brown sugar and then the white sugar.
Then use a spatula stir all the ingredients together until they are well combined and
you have a thick smooth cookie mixture. Which has no eggs in it so if you want to taste
it go ahead and take a spoon.
Now pour in two thirds of your chocolate into the mixture and all of the pretzels and stir
them through the mixture. It's quite thick so just give it a bit of a stir around until
it is evenly dispersed.
Then take generous tablespoons of the mixture, gently squeeze it into a ball and place it
onto a lined baking tray. Make sure you leave plenty of room between them for them to spread
out when they are baking. Once you have filled your tray squash each one down using the palm
of your hand. Then add your remaining chunks of chocolate onto the top of each cookie.
Bake them in the slow oven for 15minutes only. If you want them crunchy you can bake them
for longer, but I like them to be chewy. When you first pull them out of the oven they will
still seem really soft like this but as they cool they will crisp up on the edges and be
chewy and delicious in the centre.
