My name is Kristen Gillespie. IÕm based in Amman,
Jordan where IÕve lived for the past eight years.
IÕm a radio, print and television reporter.
IÕve covered most of the Arab world from Morocco
to Yemen including conflicts, suicide bombings,
wars and social trends. These are my cats.
And my philosophy about reporting and storytelling is
that storytelling is what connects people Ð
from different backgrounds, from different regions, people
who speak different languages. We all understand what a
good story is. And we all understand the basic emotions
that people in every part of the world feel, and I hope
thatÕs what comes across in my reporting.I speak Arabic
so I donÕt need a translator. It means I can talk to people
directly and understand not only what theyÕre saying, but
also the context that theyÕre coming from since IÕve lived
since IÕve lived here for several years.
So I hope you enjoy the stories. Thank you.
These are my cats Ð I have four Jordanian cats.
They all originally came from the streets.
The white one, Brodie, was in a car accident, so heÕs crippled.
Before I got him, he was in a serious car accident
and so he walks with only three legs.
JoeyÕs from the Dead Sea.
