Hi, How you doing?
I'm Audrey Johnson, on The Audrey Johnson Show.
I'm so excited. I overheard, you're from Los Angeles.
I am.
I'm from Ventura.
Oh, okay. Simi Valley.
Simi Valley? I used to live in Moorpark.
Oh, so we are... You know Princeton Avenue.
I went to pre-school on Princeton Avenue.
Or Kindergarten, or something, I don't remember.
Isn't that amaz....
Well, I will say, you're stunning, you're gorgeous.
And I was admiring you up there,
and my friend and I were looking at your dress.
So there's gorgeous.
So how does it feel to be here today in the Hamptons,
at the film festival?
Oh, it's so exciting.
Not only do we get to be in a crowd of film lovers,
people who really appreciate cinema, but,
we get to be outdoors, under the stars,
and this beautiful atmosphere with the ocean a few blocks away.
I know. Did you see the moon earlier?
The moon is, I mean, it's just stunning.
It was stunning, it was stunning.
Well, my big question to you, because everybody loved George Clooney, everybody does, including
myself,
What was it like, playing his daughter?
You know.... No,
He's amazing.
I didn't really have any expectations on meeting him,
and he's the most down-to-earth, humble, brilliant,
intelligent, respectful, generous,
I mean, I could just go on for hours.
He's such a beautiful human being, such a beautiful soul,
to play his daughter, and to have intimate scenes with him,
it was, I don't know...
He made me feel so comfortable inside;
There was zero intimidation factor;
It was amazing.
Well you know I'm feeling that, I'm feeling your vibe.
And you, coming from Simi Valley,
And I, lived in Moorpark,
I have to ask you,
How did you get started?
Here, in the Hamptons, and to be George Clooney's daughter.
How did you get started?
I was five, when I started.
Both my parents were in the education system,
and it happened by accident--
I was in a theater class,
and an agent called my mom,
and was like, Oh, well, we're interested in Shailene.
And she's like, Who are you?
And what is an agent?
We kind of learned as we went.
I had three rules growing up:
I had to stay the person they knew I was;
do good in school,
and have fun.
And if I continued doing all three of those,
then I could act.
That's awesome. I have, I'm on Facebook;
And we need to let everybody,
in California, and in Simi Valley,
know about your film.
What do you want to share with the viewers out there?
What do you want to tell them?
I think it's a very beautiful story,
about a very dysfunctional family--
which most families are, right?
--Let's be honest--
going through this really tragic scenario.
They're very far removed from each other,
and through the arc of the story,
they learn to bridge those gaps,
and they learn to reconnect with one another,
and become vulnerable within their atmosphere.
And... It's a really beautiful story.
So everybody should come out and see you.
You should come out and see everyone--
see the whole cast.
That's right, that's right.
Now, is there any things that you'd like to say,
before we part,
would you like to leave with a message?
Maybe to all the young girls out there,
Yeah-- What message do you want? Let's see...
I think it's important to re-wild yourself,
to get outdoors as much as possible... barefoot;
I think it's important to NOT buy products from Monsanto,
this genetic modification company;
I think it's important to be sustainable;
And to be passionate...
And live from Love!
Wow! Wow!
I'm totally... I love it.
So you're going to be running for...
I keep telling everybody this is the year for the woman.
And to have a young woman, who believes in sustainable and green,
I think that's fabulous.
Yeah, you know--
I think it's more than just believing in it;
It's actually living it, and doing things.
I mean, when you flush the toilet,
you waste 2.6 gallons of water--
That's ridiculous!
So...
Remember that.
If it's yellow, let it mellow--
I don't know.
Oh, I love it...
