Hello my name is Penny Smith, I'd like to talk to you today about how to rent a single
family home. I'm a North Carolina real estate broker and what my recommendations for renting
a single family home is that you have somebody look over a contract. If you're using a property
management company, which is a real estate company that does property management for
individuals then their contracts are pretty much straight forward. If you're using an
individual, I'd suggest that you hire an attorney to look over those contracts for you. Because
a lease is a legal and binding contract for both you the buyer, the renter, as well as
the seller. Now when you're looking at renting a single family home you need to ask specific
questions, as well as do a move in check list. You need to have your camera to take pictures
of things that are damaged or are not on the checklist that need to be noted, before you
move into the house. And then you also need to go over that same checklist when you're
ready to vacate that house at the time your lease is up, so that you can prove and get
your deposit back for that property. Those are my recommendations on how to rent a single
family home. Thank you and I hope you have a good day.
