Hey folks! Here we are, Don Perkins with your Quick and Dirty Review. Today we're
looking at
White Tower Dice. I just got these in today. Today is February 25th 2014.
I ordered these off of Amazon.com under Prime
for about 23 bucks. Here's what we get: we get twelve complete sets, as advertised,
you can probably see that on the packaging, "Contains at least 12 complete sets"
in six colors. These are translucent dice. (Let's see if we can get a
close up on this guy.) You can see a nice little
translucent die.
Decent quality. These do use the convention of putting a decimal point to
indicate six
to be different from nine.
The sets are complete. They also give you some offs to get you up to
a total of 100 dice. You can see the offs up here.
You can't really make a good multi-color set out of them. They're really more...
serve as replacement dice at this point. You get exactly 100 dice for the 23
bucks.
They look to be high quality dice. I went over these pretty well. I didn't see,
really, any issues with with paint or chipping
or badly-formed dice. They all look pretty good. They all seem to roll pretty
well.
They've got some good bounce on 'em.
Weight is pretty standard... just
a little bit light -- kinda feeling more like a GameScience die in terms of
weight.
But they definitely are polished and rounded corners, you know,
from traditional process. So... Actually, that one has a little bit of an extra
paint marring on it, but... again, overall
they're good looking dice. Is this is the best value out there?
I'm gonna tell you these are good. And if you want all translucent dice? Yes.
And if you want guaranteed colors? Yes.
If you just want a lot of dice and a lot of sets of dice
I'm gonna refer you over to Wiz Dice. I'll have another video review coming up
shortly that shows what you get in a Wiz Dice package of 100...
which for $19.95, roughly 20 bucks,
you're actually getting a... you end up getting more dice. This has a hundred dice in it;
that one has a 119;
and here's the big surprise: The Wiz Dice set is not random!
It is [in] complete sets. So, we'll see that in a little bit. But anyway,
These are good dice. I can't, you know... for the price it's not a bad price.
And, again, if you're looking for a lot of very pretty translucent dice,
this is a good set. And you're
colors are guaranteed, unlike on the Wiz Dice set.
So there you go! I hope
this was helpful and, if so, please make sure your put a "This is a helpful review."
Thanks a lot!
