Moment of Reflection
Theology of the extreme mercy of God in the Bible.
Dear Brothers and Sisters: We are pleased to convey to you the text of Father Francisco Duci, scj,
that could lead us to believe more firmly in the "Extreme Mercy of God in the Bible"
1 - There is a God who punishes evil and a God who saves and fixes?
Some think that behind every suffering is a well-deserved guilt that a divine sanction
and, behind a God who died, a punishment to execute an evil to atone for about a just God.
This is a servile fear, not a fear of salvation, which disagrees with the Biblical Theology.
Some people complained saying, "what harm done to deserve such punishment?"
Because of the man born blind, the disciples asked the Lord Jesus:
"Rabbi, who sinned, he or his parents?" Jesus replied:
"Neither he nor his parents, but this is to reveal the Glory of God."
Jesus healed the blind man by giving him his sight and he gave glory to God and acknowledged that Jesus was the Son of God.
2 - There is a divine punishment?
The origin of suffering may be sickness, natural disaster or deadly incidents, without being provoked.
Other sufferings are caused by their own recklessness,
when disunites respect for natural laws or because it shows against the precepts of the Bible
- Of Commandments - and violations of conscience.
In any case, God is present, but not as vengeful as Savior and Father!
Yes, God is present in a saving way,
Merciful Father always providing for evil to protect us and preserve,
or make us repair to restore the order violated the laws of nature and assist us in healing,
console us and deliver us from evil, sometimes in prodigious, with a direct intervention.
This does not always happen, but according to His purposes of love or the effectiveness of our prayers,
faith and trust in His Mercy.
The prayer of the righteous have the power to obtain the salvation of a city or a nation or region.
3 - But there is a penalty offense and avenger of evil?
or there is a just God judge to require repair, based on a just punishment?
No! There is always a merciful God, who corrects not to punish but to save.
It is God who sends the flood to the land, nor ruin of *** and Gomorrah,
or whether the deportation of the people of Israel in 70 years of exile in Babylon,
or send wars with the Philistines, the enemies of Israel, nor the pestilence for the crimes of David.
It is not God but sin that prevents you want His blessings to ward off evil.
It is the sinner that prevents the saving action of God,
rejecting His law and His presence is still based on tight.
For God made man free to choose good and evil,
warning him not to follow the evil, and therefore respect their freedom to be worthy of the prize:
any act of choosing good over evil.
However, if a man violates the order and cause harm,
God always intervenes to repair, desirous of our salvation, as the mother with her son.
Sometimes suddenly intervenes to prevent a worse evil,
but in return prepares us a generous forgiveness, provoking a repentance
an awareness of evil we are running up and prepares us for many means a return to himself,
rich in forgiveness, love and thanks to the new save.
4 - It's just the face of evil exclaim: "So God wants to be like God want?"
Evil is not His will!
His will is the coming of His Kingdom of love, peace and freedom and pray to Him saying:
"Let us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil."
But God is never vengeful savior. Generating corrects sometimes pain,
As a surgeon who cuts but saves a worse evil, what will soon generate new peace and blessings,
in order to raise a salvific fear and not servile slave.
Corrects why he sent Jesus to save us from sin and by His death and resurrection,
make us deserve salvation from all that believe in him.
The blessing of God Almighty, Father, Son and Holy Spirit
descend upon you and remain forever. - Amen
