How to Copy an Existing Course and its contents to a Blank Course Shell
Objective: This tutorial will guide you through the steps
to copy an existing course to a blank shell. Transcript of Video:
• For this tutorial I’ve created two courses. One of them I’ve worked in already and one
is blank. I will be copying the modified course to the blank one.
• This is the original course which I’ve modified
• And this is my new course which will become a duplicate of the original
• Open the course that you want to copy o I want to show you that I’ve already edited
this course • Let’s go to the control panel, Packages
and Utilities, and then Course Copy • Once there, I need to double-check that
Copy Type says “ Copy Course materials into Existing Course Type.” It does, so now I
need to browse for my course. • Mine happens to be the first course listed,
So I’ll select it and scroll to the bottom. Click Submit
• Now we need to check all of the boxes below. These are the items inside the course
that will be copied. •
Leave Course Files and Enrollments alone, these do not need to be modified.
• Click submit. • Now we’re waiting on the Email confirmation.
• Now that I’ve received the email confirming that my course has been copied successfully
we’re ready to go. Please note that I received an error message. This is a bug and will not
affect the content of your course, if you happen to receive this message.
• Now we can go to the new course and we’ll notice that all my content copied correctly
from the original
course. • Thank you for watching
