[applause]
What can I say about Trio that has not already been said?
Basically nothing.
I started Trio in 2005, and all the awards
that I see you guys going up to get,
I’ve gotten basically all of them.
Student of the year, all that good stuff.
All I can say about Trio-
Mr. Pernell, I don’t know what more to say about you.
He’s the best. It’s like this job was made for him.
I hope that you never ever change and you never ever leave.
[audience agrees] [laughter]
Because I know that Trio would not be the same
without you, Me’*** and Reary, that’s what I call her.
I started in Learning support.
I graduated with two degrees from Georgia Perimeter.
I’m now a registered nurse. I went to Georgia Perimeter,
I left here and got accepted at the Clarkston Campus
in their nursing program.
And Mr. Pernell can tell you, I cried.
I cried through nursing school. I cried through learning support.
I cried through everything.
I had to send my son away to Barbados for 3 years.
That was hard. I kinda fit in everybody’s story.
All I gotta say is Trio, the best program I’ve ever seen.
I was at the, uh, the main campus, Clarkston, for two years.
Nothing like this. No family, no nothing.
You’re on your own. You have to make your own family.
Don’t go away. Don’t lose Mr. Pernell’s number.
Trust me, you’re gonna need it no matter where you go.
Don’t lose Me’***’s number. You’re gonna need it.
Reary, you’re gon’, trust me people,
ya’ll gon’ need it! [laughter]
Anyway, good luck. I am a registered nurse.
I work at Dekalb Medical.
Any time ya’ll get sick, you might see me.
[laughter] Anyway, good luck. Good night.
