My experience with the Georgia Veterinarian Scholors Program was phenomenal. My mentor
throughout the program was Dr. Ralph Trip his work was conducted at the animal health
research center her at UGA's Veterinarian School. I got to work in a VSLT laboratory
where I concentrated on influenza virus and its delivery in aerosolized vehicle. The symposium
at Michigan State University was a lot of fun and it was a great experience to meet
other scholars throughout the country who were conducting their own research also. Before
this program I had never really considered research as a career opportunity, but after
participating in the Georgia Veterinarian Scholars Program I have decided to apply to
the University dual degree DMD/ PHD program where if I am accepted I will pursue my PHD
degree after I graduate from veterinarian school. So if anybody has ever considered
research as a career I would recommend this program.
