Hi! This is Ben Jordan from expertvillage.com and I am here to talk to you about riding
your bike at night. Riding your bicycle at night requires some additional safety tips
to keep you safe. While it is dark out, that means that you are not as visible to cars
or people that are on the road. You need to be aware and you need to keep them aware of
you. First thing is you need to have blinkers and lights on your bike. A taillight that
is either a constant steady on or blinks will keep you safer because it will allow cars
to see you from a further distance away. In addition, you should have a headlamp on the
front of your bike. This will give you some additional field of vision as well as keeping
you visible to pedestrians or vehicles that may be in front of you. In addition to having
lights on your bicycle, it is also important that you try to wear reflective clothing on
your body. More of you will be visible and that just makes you safer.
