Hi! This is C.J. South representing expertvillage.com. In this clip, I am going to show you how you
can change the poster frame for your thumbnails. So let's talk about the poster frame now.
What is the poster frame? Well, basically it is the image that your clips display when
they are in this thumbnail view. Let's say you want to change it and why would want to
change it. All these different clips of mine are clips of different buildings so in order
for me to know exactly what this clip is, I am going to want to pick an image from the
clip that really defines it. If you have shots, like if you have 6 different actors for 6
different scenes and you want to make sure that you know what scenes you are looking
at instead of just writing down Sarah 1, John 1 and Jake 1. You can change the poster frame
their image to a shot of their face. That way you would know right away okay, that's
their clip. How do you do that? Well, you come down here to your tool pallet and you
go down to this third one from the bottom. It is in the same category as your zoom tools
and it is called the scrubbing tools. It's the hand with the two arrows on it, click
that. Now you click and hold on a clip and as you drag your mouse to the right and left,
this clip, it scrubs through the clip. So you just want to find an area that you want.
Okay, there's a picture of a house and then hold it there and you just hold the control
key and they'll unclick. There we go. Hold the control key and unclick. Now these other
clips don't really need it because they are of billings. Actually this one does right
here. Let me just zoom that, hold control and there we go. It's now the poster frame.
Now let's change out view back to this list and let's bring up the thumbnails again. Now
it is a little different with these thumbnails because you don't have to use the scrub tool,
it's just your pointer and then you could just scrub by clicking and holding and scrubbing.
To change that you have to double click it, so let's double click this one. Bring it up
in viewer, go to the frame that you want, that frame go up to mark and then come down
to set poster frame. Now that frame is now set.
