300 million years before human life began,
a humanoid species networked by symbiotic relationships,
known as Cryptids, inhabited a volcanic Earth.
Their main source of power was cultivated fungal colonies.
They were highly protected.
These colonies-- they release pheromones
that are necessary to stimulate a Cryptids'
cold-blooded metabolism.
Rapid cellular regeneration and geothermal heating
made colonies almost invincible, making survivability very
sustainable.
Until a comet from outer space hit Earth,
incinerating the atmosphere, Cryptids
were forced to go underground, and they
displayed horrific natural selection.
It's what they had to do to carry on their survival
as they live deep beneath the dying earth.
Our story begins at the volcanic site
of Caldera Peak in Colorado.
Federation forces had hijacked the ODIN Space Station
launching an ODIN strike, decimating
America north and Southwest.
This is seen during the beginning of the campaign.
You can see very well in this space station
how the federation were there to take control of it
so that they could use it for their own sole purposes.
And we go back to Earth and we see the missile
hitting the earth in Colorado.
Surviving astronauts aboard kept all remaining missiles
at bay leaving the US mostly unscathed.
A stray missile had hit Caldera Peak
which uncovered a colony of Cryptids.
The creatures began a massacre of the townspeople wiping
hundreds off the face of the earth with what
appeared to be a mystery virus.
American soldiers were sent to investigate
the quarantine zone.
The government had learned of a new breed--
a new strange breed-- dubbing them as aliens
just as the [INAUDIBLE] disappeared.
