The extravagant and largest ever New Year's Eve fireworks in Dubai has made it onto the
Guinness World Records. The Guinness record website confirmed its
latest decision on Wednesday, saying the six-minute show of 500-thousand fireworks, spanning 94
kilometers across the Dubai coast, required 10 months of planning.
The six-million-U.S. dollar spectacle which started at the world's tallest Burj Khalifa
tower, then moved onto the man-made Palm Jumeirah and the World islands, was orchestrated by
a U.S. firm using 1-hundred computers and 2-hundred technicians.
The previous record was set by an hour-long show of over 77-thousand fireworks by Kuwait
in 2011.
