The Balance Sheet is an accounting report which shows a picture of where a company stands
at a certain point in time. It can be used by accountants or bank managers to view the
performance of your business and it is very useful for comparing data over different periods
of time.
The Balance Sheet is made up of three parts which are assets, liabilities and equity.
Roughly speaking:
assets are anything the business owns
liabilities are everything the company owes
and equity is what the business owes to its owners
OK so let’s go ahead and run this report.
I’m going to go over to the gold coins – the Chart of Accounts – and right at the top
here, where you’ve got these three buttons, the next button is the ‘B’ that we are
going to be looking at, and this report will run the Balance Sheet.
To set the Start and End Dates you can do that here if you want to set Start and End
Dates for different periods of time, I’m not going to do this for this example but
you can do by checking it, giving it the relevant date and that’s it.
OK so I am just going to go out of here. OK so let’s run the report. This will take
us into the Accountz designer and if we go over to Design/Print, we can print this report
off. Now I’ve not given this any styles for this report. Please check out the video
on templates and how you can create styles and you can print or export this report via
the Accounts Manager. The export options are over here in the View/Edit with the floppy
disc icon. And the Design/Print is where you can actually print this information. We should
have a video on printing and exporting information, so check that video out if you need to know
how to print or export.
Alright so that’s it! That’s how you generate a Balance Sheet, you simply in the CoA which
is the Chart of Accounts hit this B button to generate the report straight away and if
you want to filter it click on the Start or End Date area and it will bring up a little
window where you can specify the dates and then that’s it.
Alright so that should show you can generate the Balance Sheet Report within Business Accountz.
