My name is Barbara Esses and I do events for a living. I'm Ruthie Hecht. I'm an event planner
and I work with and for my mother. We're going to teach you the do's and dont's for the perfect
wedding. When choosing your wedding gown there are so many important aspects. You have to
choose the color. Are you white, ivory, slightly blushy pink? Check all these colors next to
your skin and see which one works best. Also, if it's a summer wedding see how tan you'll
be. That might change the color that looks best on you. When choosing the cut, make sure
it's not something too sexy. You're getting married - you should show off and be hot,
but keep it for your husband. A good rule of thumb for when you're choosing your wedding
dress: the lighter your skin, the darker you can go. Definitely take into account all shapes
and sizes. You might think you want one thing but try everything on in the store and see
what really looks best on you. For the top you can go strapless, sleeveless, long sleeve,
high neck, low back, no back. There are endless options to the top of your wedding gown and
even more for the bottom. You can go with the huge ball gown, a slim, slim narrow skirt,
a line flint and flare mermaid, even pants. When shopping for a wedding gown, definitely
try on what the salespeople ask you to. They have experience in this and can give your
great advice, but you have to be comfortable. Only wear what you love. Just remember, anything
that's too tight will be hard to walk and dance in and anything that's too big, no one
will be able to walk up to give you a kiss - they can't get close enough. The final element
to a wedding dress is the train. Do you want something long and elegant at the back of
the dress when you're walking down the aisle? Just remember that has to be bustled and that
becomes a big poof of fabric hanging behind you during the rest of the evening. Make sure
the weight of the dress isn't too heavy, that you're comfortable enough and you can walk.
There's nothing more worse than a tired bride at the end of the night because her wedding
dress is weighing her down. There are tons of options for wedding dresses. Just make
sure you pick something you'll feel beautiful in and that you'll love the pictures for the
rest of your life.
