A pearl symbolizes something that
requires time to develop
grow into something beautiful.
To me,
it is almost like a metaphor
of me as a person growing.
I started with nothing...
like everyone else.
We all started with nothing, but
over the course of the years, we
we develop personality,
attitude,
skills,
things that help us in life...
intelligence, stamina, wisdom,
and wit. So, to me that's like
how we grow as a person.
A pearl is the same as how we are as women.
When a light hits a diamond,
it has a lot of sparkles.
Many different jewels have a lot of sparkles, but
a pearl is different.
A pearl have that glow that comes from within, on the inside.
It comes from the inside.
I see that a pearl means to have the inner glow that
that just glows brightly inside all of us.
To me, that inner glow means to have passion.
All of us have passion. That really helps me to move forward in what I do.
Rare, unique,
hard to find,
and takes time to become a pearl.
The same goes for Deaf women.
Rare, unique, hard to find
takes time to take off.
Perfect word that is fitting.
I do know from stories that
"The Pearl", you know...
or "The Black Pearl."
You have to dive deep in the sea to find
the clam that have a pearl inside that's been building for many years.
When it becomes whole, it will finally open up.
A big achievement.
To me, a pearl is
hard work finally achieved.
It is like a hidden treasure.
When you see the pearl, the pearl shows something special about that person.
You see there is a sense of self confidence,
beauty,
elegance,
fearless, ready to
take in new experiences from the world.
