What have you always wanted to ask your dad, but couldn't?
For daughters, here’s a unique opportunity to learn what's really going on with dads,
a side they rarely share.
Peer into the father's world of hidden feelings, of words unsaid, and a joy and sadness that
are too often misunderstood.
I’m James I. Bond, founder of The Father-Daughter Project.
A few years ago I realized my 22-year-old daughter Lauren, my middle daughter, had grown
up, and I didn’t really know her.
My career had somehow so consumed me, that here she was, all grown up, and I barely knew
her. I told her that I felt like I had been a terrible
dad, having let our lives go like this.
Then she told me, “I’ve been waiting my whole life to hear this…”
After I recovered from the shock, I wondered, were other dads of daughters as
clueless as me, about their relationship with their daughters.
So I set out to interview dads of daughters.
And it turns out, dads want to talk, about this profoundly complicated relationship with
their daughter—the first woman they are to protect rather than pursue.
Come with me on this journey of discovery, as I ask these 101 dads about their feelings
and their relationship with their daughter.
Sometimes incredibly funny, sometimes profoundly sad,
you'll experience in their own words, a world rarely seen by women.
