Jay's mum: Jay was kind hearted
loving
loyal, faithful
honest
he was
just
just the perfect son and I know we all think we've got perfect sons
but he was.
Jays sister: He was amazing
he was the best brother and uncle that I could ever have
or wish for
He was so kind
he always helped me
and I've lost a half of me
and someone's stolen him from us.
My children are in pieces. My 5-year-old is singing songs at night begging him to come down from heaven
just please come forward - somebody
with some bit of information, just to
just to help so we can move on as a family.
DCI Simon Parkes: We've had a tremendous response so far we've spoken to 145 people
people at that party
but the key to prosecuting those responsible for Jay's killing
is to be able to reconstruct the actions of Jay and those who attacked Jay
really frame by frame so it's in the detail
So what I'd like to do is to look for anyone who was at the party who hasn't spoken to us so far
they need to come forward and those that have remembered any further details since they last spoke to us
I'd asked them to speak to us in confidence. We can get that information from them
and hopefully bring Jay's killers to justice.
So far, we've recovered 9 knives. We know from the experts that Jay was stabbed
he was stabbed with a knife and that knife hasn't been found.
So if you know where that knife is or where it has been disposed of
then please contact us in confidence because we do need that *** weapon
We've recovered clothing of all those that we suspect to be involved in this
with the exception of 1 T-shirt.
It's a red and white T-shirt made by River Island and we haven't found that.
It's the same as with the knife; if you know where that T-shirt is
if you can tell us where that T-shirt has been disposed of - please get in
It's going to be key to the investigation.
There will be people out there who know who killed Jay Whiston.
It's not too late to come forward - I'd advise them to come forward now
Speak to us in confidence. We'll gladly speak to them
that information, the minutest of detail is so important
So if you know who's done this - you know who's responsible, please get in touch.
Jay's sister: He's a big part of my life.
always from when he was born.
When he was a primary school I used to pick him up from school
and I'd take him home. My mum worked so I'd help with the dinner, do his reading books. And now he's gone.
Jay's mum: Please come forward
and stop hiding behind trouser legs and skirts like a frightened little rabbit.
you know what you've done
and you should face the consequences you were brave enough to do it. Be brave enough to come forward.
