The lesson I have learnt is that
there are dire humanitarian needs
and vulnerable people needing assistance,
living in unstable situations,
forced to displace themselves
often because of armed conflicts
or natural disasters and catastrophes.
Coordination is vital when several parties are involved:
to reach a joint aim, all efforts need
to be coordinated towards the aim.
Cooperation is functional on ground
to transform Principles into action.
It is necessary among National Societies
that share the same Principles and Values,
but it must be fostered by a coordination body
such as the Centre for the Cooperation in the Mediterranean
which is an excellent body for the region.
We collaborate with Mauritania, Senegal, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria.
We collaborate with many countries,
with every country in the Mediterranean.
Partnership is important inside the Movement
and also outside with external partners,
especially with governments and humanitarian organisations.
It reinforces the actions we carry out.
Together we can do better and be more effective.
