The day of Friday (Jummah) is a holiday for the Muslimeen
It is the day of worship and remembrance (of Allah) and salaat on the prophet (Pbuh)
Look at this virtue that the prophet (saw) mentioned regarding the day of Jummah
And the hadith is reported sound by people of knowledge
The Messenger of Allah (Pbuh) said: Whoever does Ghusl on Friday and causes to do Ghusl
And the scholars differed on the meaning of 'and causes to do Ghusl’
Some said (ghassal) as in washing the head and (Ightasal) as in washed his body
Or caused in the ghusl of his wife from (janaabah)
Whoever does Ghusl on Friday and causes to do Ghusl,...
And sets out early,
Meaning left early for the Jummah prayer
Unlike some of us (May Allah guide us all)
They stay up the entire night before and do not wake up Friday morning To go to the Jummah prayer
He (saw) said: Whoever does Ghusl on Friday and causes to do Ghusl,...and sets out early, And walks and does not ride
So if the Masjid is far, go with your car...
Then stop (or park the car) and know that you’re walking from your car to the masjid has a special reward (ajr)
He (saw) said: And walked and did not ride
Do you know what is the reward?
For every step he takes he will have the reward of fasting and praying qiyaam for one year.” (al-Tirmidhi, 496)
That is the bounty of Allah, which He gives to whom He wills, and Allah is the possessor of great bounty. (62:4)
Some of us will say, we will all do this for it is something easy
It is easy indeed, but who will come early?
It is easy but who gets ready for the jummah prayer and leaves for it early walking on his feet anticipating and hoping for Allah's reward
The Jummah to the (following) Jummah - The messenger of Allah (pbuh) says: Expedites what is in between them
Whoever prays the Jummah prayer then commits sins deeds during the week
If he prays the Jummah, it expedites all of his minor sins for this week
The Jummah to the (following) Jummah, expedites what is between them
what about those that are in such blindness and absence that they do not even witness the jummah prayer?
And whoever leaves (does not witness) three Jummahs (on purpose and with no excuse)
Do you know his consequences for this?
Allah (swt) will seal his or her heart...
The heart gets sealed, why?
Because the individual does not take the day of Jummah seriously
But when they saw a transaction or a diversion, [O Muhammad], they rushed to it and left you standing. Say, "What is with Allah is better than diversion and than a transaction, and Allah is the best of providers." (62:11)
For this reason the scholars said if the khateeb stands and the mu'azin calls the Athaan makes the last Athaan (second Athaan)
Until the Khateeb (giving the khutbah) is finished with the Jummah prayer
The buying and selling during this hour is Haram (perhibited)
And whoever bought or sold during these times will not have a sound sale
Because Allah (swt) says: 'and leave trade..' (62:9)
At the time of Jummah there is no buying or selling
On Jummah there is an hour... listen to this great hadith!
Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said: 'There is an hour on Friday and if a Muslim gets it while offering Salat (prayer) and asks something from Allah (SWT), then Allah (SWT) will definitely meet his demand.'
Imagine this hour!
When is this hour?
In the morning? After the khateeb gets up to give the khutbah? After salah? The time of Asr?
Some narrations say it is the last hour in the Asr (between Asr and maghrib) of the day Jummah
The final hour
Take a look at the state of most people during the time of Asr on Jummah...What are they doing?
Who goes to the masjid during this time and raises his hands and makes dua asking for the good of the dunya and the hereafter?
Who remembers on the day of Jummah during that the last hour of Asr that it is a time of acceptance (of dua)
So they raise their hands and asks Allah (swt)
And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me... (2:186)
And it is liked (Musta7ab) on the Day of Judgment for a servant of Allah to recite surat Al Kahf
And in some narrations even reciting it in the night of Jummah (Beginning Thursday after Maghrib)
And whoever reads surat Al Kahf on the day of Jummah
[All] praise is [due] to Allah, who has sent down upon His Servant the Book... (18:1)... This great surah
Whoever recites it on the day of Jummah, Allah will make for him a light to Al-Bayt Al-Ateeq (The house in the heavens above the Kaaba)
See where you are right now? In Riyadh...? Kuwait...? Egypt...? Morocco...? In America...? Wherever!
This distance to Al- Bayt Al-Ateeq Allah (swt) will make that distance for you a light on the Day of Judgment
Why?
Because you are amongst those that recite surat Al-Kahf on the day of Jummah
And the other virtue of Surat Al-Kahf
And the other vitue Allah (swt) will make for you a light through out the week until the next Jummah!
You get light in this dunyah and light on the day of judgment.. why?
Because you recited surat Al-Kahf!
And he to whom Allah has not granted light - for him there is no light. (24:40)
The day of Jummah is a great day. The Day of Judgment will come on a day of Jummah
In some narrations and some sources the creation from animals and other have their ears open... listening and waiting on the day of Friday if the day of Judgment will come or not
It is something great!
And for this reason the Muslim begins his or her day on Jummah with Salaah and wash and gets ready and uses the siwaak... and the siwaak is liked (mustahab) on the day of Jummah
And to use oils and good scents from the best of scents and wear beautiful clothes to get ready for this day
Ightisaal (wash)... Siwaak... Good scents
Make your children and wives learn this and make it a habit to wash for Jummah and use the siwaak on the day of jummah
Make them learn to use good scents and smell good and how to get ready for the day of jummah
Take them with you to the Masaajid on the day of Jummah
So we can teach our families and loved ones the virtue of the day of jummah
All of the Muslims getting ready for the day of Jummah!
It is the best day in which the sun has risen
This becomes continuous every single week
Good for those who come early to the salaah and recite the Quran
Ibn Umar RA used to come to the Jummah prayer early and would continue to pray two raq’aas... one after the other until the Imam comes
Then he would listen to the zikr (remembrance of Allah)
And it is not permissible for one who is attending the Jummah to be occupied with anything (other than listening to the khutbah)
But to listen and remain silent
And (as reported in hadith) 'and he who touched pebbles caused an interruption.' (Muslim Book 4, Number 1868)
The day of Jummah, is a special day and it has many sunan... So we shall perform them and increase our salaah on the prophet (saw)... for it is the best day in which the sun has risen
