Bright lights, screaming American fans and grown men whizzing down ice slopes - what
more could you ask for from a sporting event !
In the second of five Ice Cross Downhill World Championship races staged around the globe,
Kyle Croxall secured his second successive win in front of more than 100,000 US spectators.
The fans crowded the hill around the Cathedral of Saint Paul to watch the action unfold on
the 400-metre-long track where the downhill skaters fought all the way to the finish.
The incredible action kept the American crowd fired up all evening long despite the brutal
temperatures that plunged far below freezing and ice-cold winds on what is traditionally
the coldest weekend of the year in Minnesota.
Canadian brothers, Kyle and Scott Croxall, bolted over the finish line and Kyle, the
2012 champion, was understandably delighted with his performance.
"I feel amazing. Same thing as last year - started off the season with two wins overall. So yeah,
just go keep trying to do the same thing. Gets some wins during the season and get a
World Championship overall."
