Hello natural ladies and gentlemen- Yes this is my first attempt at a wash n go. I m using
my Hairveda's Whipped Jelly, and Im just taking small sections, wetting the sections with
water and adding lots of whipped jelly to each section to define my waves. I apologize
I thought that my camera was in a lot better focus than it is, but hopefully you can get
the gist of what Im doing. So here Im just smoothing it on from roots to the ends, using
tension, not raking or shingling just smoothing it on to my strands. I do that all over my
head , and as you can see Ive got a lot of product on it. After I complete my whole head
I just spray it all over again with alot of water and I take a little bit of my oil mix
and put it all over my head. I was trying to prevent my hair from drying crunchy- but
I realized that that was an unnecessary step because the hairveda whipped jelly has alot
of moisturizing ingredients so my hair was a little bit too juicy after using the extra
oil. So I just diffused it to get it to dry quite rapidly, then I air dried for a few
hours, and the came back and diffused some more. So here are the results of my 90 percent
dry wash n go. So here's how I maintained it and my thoughts on how my wash n go turned
out..... Earlier when I took pics of my finished wash n go, I wanted to take a nap, I went
ahead and pineappled my hair up while a slept a few hours. These are the results of pineappling...
I was very delightfully surprised because even with pineappling I thought that it was
going to be flat- I thought I wasn't going to be able to get my hair back down, that
it was just going to be just stuck up. And I was going to have to re-wet it and all that
to get it back down, but I just kind of did like this all the way around, pulled my hair
down, and eventually gravity kind of took its toll on it and it just went back down,
I was very delightfully surprised. So, I do know that the pineapple method does work for
type 4 hair like mine. Im gonna try another method that I saw on youtube. On J Cokes channel,
she mentioned Naptural85's method of maintaining a 5 day wash n go. And she basically spritzed
some water up in the air, let it fall on her hair. She put a plastic cap on her hair and
then a scarf , thats how she slept. When she got up in the morning she just shook her hair
and her hair was ready to go- literally. So I figured that J Cokes hair is a little bit
more similar to my hair that Napturals. She has more of a curl pattern than I do, But
I figured that if it worked for her it may work for me. So that what Im gonna try right
now. Its all about experiment guys. So Im gonna spray the water up in the air, and let
it fall down on my hair. I can feel it, like rain. She said all you need is a few sprays.
Im sure you can use any moisturizing spray for this, but since my hair is already juicy
from th oils I put on it when I did my wash n go and from the oils already in the gel,
I decided not to use anything but water. Alright- I satisfied with that. Now Naptural used 2
caps, because all her hair wouldnt fit into 1. Your supposed to lightly put your hair
in the cap, not to crush your curls. And that kind of true, if your going to lightly put
your hair in 1 cap may be too snug. So Im using 2 plastic caps, on in the back, and
one in the front. These caps smell funny. Ok- My hair is in the cap. Im gonna be hearing
( crunch sound) all night. Dont you hate that when your sleeping real good, and you turn
over to the cooler side of your pillow and you hear ( crunch sound). Like back in the
days with Jheri curls, but we have to do what we have to do dont we. So Im putting my scarf
on. Naptural said that its best to tuck your scarf under the cap - so that the plastic
doent break your edges. I highy agree with that. Just tuck it in there. Ok- so thats
the night time maintenance for my first posted wash n go- see you in the morning- sweet dreams.
Hey guys ok- so its the next day- Im nervous about this little baggy thing to keep my wash
n go fresh. So Ive got my Eco styler gel- handy dandy and near by. My water bottle and
my elastic band, just in case I need to perform an emergency puff. This might be an emergency
puff situation. Here's the take down, first time trying this. It looks really smooshed,
take off the first cap, the second cap, it looks really smooshed. The caps have a lot
of condensation in them, I know you cant see that but they do have some wetness in them.
If this works then I will save those caps for tonight. Take my glasses off and give
my hair a shake.... Its not shaking! Wow.. ok, well maybe the shaking thing doesnt work
for me. Ill put my glasses on so I can see something. Sighs. Its really damp, really
really really damp. Its really shrunken too. but we will see, it may came back. So Im just
fluffing trying to revive it. Even though it didnt shake, I dont know whats up with
that, I dont have any shaking action. Everybody else can shake their curls and their waves,
I wanna be able to shake my curls and my waves too -whats up with that? Oh it shook a little
bit. LAUGHING. I feel like Im getting shaken baby syndrome- thats making my head hurt.
LAUGHING. But everybody's got shaking action and can shake their curls, but I cant shake
my curls. Whats up with that? Im mad. Well, after a little fluffing and attemping to shake
it- its getting a little bit revived. And Its damp like i said, but its not super duper
damp. I would consider this an almost fail - but not quite. Its a half of a fail- because
I cant shake my curls. Im supposed to be able to just shake em out and they just (makes
whistling sound) doing all this fluffing and stuff. I cant see the back- I should've brought
my other mirror so that I can see the back. My hair still feels moisturized, its like
that gel got reactivated quite a bit because Im starting to see white residue again. This
is what it looks like. So this is day 2 of my first posted wash n go. I cant say that
I like it today. I liked it more yesterday. It didnt really keep most of the definition,
its just blah today. I just gotta try different stuff to see if its going to work better.
Next time I wont be so overly anxious for my hair to try, its hard because it takes
my hair forever to dry. If I do a wash n go and I just let my hair air dry its literally
gonna take 20- 22 hours. The first time I just let my hair dry naturally it took all day,
from morning to night.Even when I went to bed it wasnt fully dry. So this time I tried
to help it out with the diffuser, but I think I kinda rushed it and played around with it
a little too much and I got the fro look. Im alright with the fro look, but thats not
what Im looking for, Im looking for the defined look. I wanna see what is gonna define my
curls just naturally hanging there. Thats what Im working on, and thats where my partial
disappointment comes from. When I did my gel, it looked very nice and defined like it would
dry well, and then I kinda rushed it. So after it dries I will try to take a couple pics,
or I will come back and do a quick turn around and show you how it looks after its dry. I
know a couple of you have said in the comments that you have hair just like mine. So if you
do a wash n go, and you have some suggestions for me, please leave it in the comment box
below of send me a video response. Id really like to know what you use and what your technique
is. Because Im thinking that I will try a couple different things, maybe do a comparison
video and see what works better. So if you have some tips or suggestions for me leave
it in the box. Ill see you guys later. thanks for listening to my ranting, and joining in
this experience of type 4 wash n gos. Bye!
