As I have gotten older I have started paying a lot more attention to the food that I eat.
I have always tried to be environmentally responsible and do my best to purchase food locally.
I eat very healthy and have started to really love cooking. I eat lots of fruits and vegetables and drink a lot of smoothies.
Recently a wrote a paper for another class on the topic of integrating gardening into schools.
This helped me foster an interest in container gardening.
This is the first time that I have ever attempted gardening on any really productive levels so it may have some challenges, but I am looking forward to the experience.
First I will be growing an herb garden as well as a vegetable garden which will include
Radishes,
Onions,
Peas,
Beets,
Squashes and carrots.
Eating local produce you are getting the freshest and most nutrient dense produce available around you.
Hopefully in the next few months I can begin bringing produce from my very own garden to our table.
Here are some of my favorite set-ups I have found while doing my research on container gardening.
Container gardening is a great way to grow your own produce without needing a lot of space
like a large yard or a full farm.
Hopefully this summer will be very fruitful.
