So, this is a quick tutorial about how to add a caption track
to my video as of summer 2013.
So my first step is to go into my video manager and select the video I want to add
a caption track to.
To add a caption track,
I click the plus cc you can see down here at the bottom
and it opens a new window.
I have two options here.
I can add a captioned track, which is uploading a .txt file,
or I can use automatic captions.
Automatic captions
are those figured out by the program. You'll see that they have a timestamp
You'll see that they are all lower case and you can kind of go through and see
whether
what's listed here make sense and is what you intended to say.
If you make any changes in here you need to save a copy.
It will replace
the automatic transcript with the one that you have edited.
Your other option is under add captions
and I can either
paste in
my transcript
I can upload
a text file as a transcript
or I can upload a timed captioned file. and personally I find that's not all
that necessary.
If i put my video transcript in or upload a transcript I click sync
and I think YouTube does a great job of aligning it with timed captions.
So that's how you are doing a transcript now
