Today on our 20113 Ford Escape, well be test fitting the Thule T2 Platform-Style 2 Bike
Carrier, part number TH916XTR. Now to begin our test fit, well slide the shank of the
carrier into the opening of the hitch, line up our pinholes, thread our anti-rattle bolt
through the pinholes and tighten with a wrench. Now well go ahead and go over a few clearance
measurements to see how the bike carrier and this vehicle will fit together. There is about
12 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the vehicle to the closest part of
the carrier here at the rear bumper is about one and half inches. With the platform folded
up weve added about 13 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. Now well go ahead and
lift up the grey handle on the back of the platform to tilt the platform down and well
measure from the cargo door to the end of the platform and well get a measurement of
31 inches. Now to load the bike, well unfold the mast, put the frame hook to the top of
the mast and well undo the tray strap. Well set the bike into the wheel trays; adjust
the frame hook tightly just before the front caliper on the front wheel and secure with
the rear tray strap. To access cargo area, well pull the silver pin below the grey handle
that we used to tilt the platform down and then with the same handle well tilt it down
a second time and this will us to have access to our cargo door. That completes todays test
fit for the Thule T2 Platform-Style 2 Bike Carrier, part number TH916XTR on our 2013
Ford Escape. .
